[STYLE=font-family: georgia; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; padding: 5px; width: 400px; margin-top: -30px;]Beryl didn't teleport into her Generals' bedrooms most nights, but when she did it was for a Very Good Reason. Or, well, this first time it was for a very specific reason--one that might not be particularly good, but one that was going to accomplish a particular goal.
She had been watching Seth Stanton for weeks and she knew his plans like she knew the back of her hand. They were so stable. And she wasn't sure if that made him some kind of wellspring of support for her future endeavors or if it made him the type of person who would hate to have his status quo disrupted; but she needed to awaken him and she had no choice but to do it then, without getting the peripheral interactions she had so favored with Jadeite.
And, like a gift from the Chaos seed she served, the future General Kunzite's house was empty. It was an ideal time for this; she wouldn't even need to use her magic to prevent his screaming from being heard. Oh, transforming was agonizing enough when you were doing it on your own--it had to be disorienting as anything to be forced to do it by a greater power. Sitting on Seth's bed in her violet gown, straight black hair pouring down around her like a waterfall, she smiled and ran her fingernails over the smooth glass of her amethyst orb.
"The victor's way is in desperateness; ten men or more cannot kill such a woman. Common sense does not accomplish great things. Simply become insane… become insane and desperate," she quoted under her breath, thinking of the follies that had brought her to this premature awakening. Sailor Moon out and about in the city, Luna too, a strange tabby cat as well, and she was sure she had sensed Pluto, somewhere. That meant the rest of them were to come. And she could not make do with only Jadeite; she would not make do with only Jadeite, who had never been her most reliable.
No, Seth Stanton seemed a true mirror of the Kunzite she had known. If the Dark Kingdom was to rise or fall based on the pillars which upheld it, if ruling was truly based on the learning of the wise, the justice of the great, the prayers of the righteous and the valor of the brave, she thought she could rely on this one to be the righteous man she needed. Even if he wasn't, she was a ruler who knew the art of ruling--and without her, the whole enterprise would collapse. That was the science of the tradition.
When she saw the door opening, she stood up and summoned her staff to hand. The orb returned to its nothing-space in Chaos, and she forced a smile to curve her dark lips. The green eyes were dull, uninterested, because she had no care for Seth Stanton except for the fact that he was her General. She would have what was hers and there was no question but for that. "Good evening, Mr. Stanton," she said. "I'm here to talk to you about an employment opportunity with the Dark Kingdom. Do you have a few minutes to sit down and hear the benefits of my offer?"
Her tone was nothing but facetious, and the smile turned colder.[/style]

All in all, Seth had been a fairly busy person today. So far he had gone to school and then the political offices where he liked to help out. Seth was fairly big into politics, planning to get into them himself at some point or another. It just seemed to be something that was enjoyable to him, and any bit helped. Plus the people there made good references for a college application, there was no question about that. They got his help, he got to learn and got names to use as references. All in all, it was a good deal for both ends.
However, this sort of daily routine also left Seth fairly tired at the end of the day. Probably would shock people as he did not bother with after school activities sponsored by the school, but it was a fairly busy system he subscribed to. Entering his house, he took off his shoes happy to be home. He just wanted to go to his room, turn on the TV, and relax a bit. After all, he had earned it after a hard day of working.
When he went to his room, he was needless to say shocked to see someone on his bed, and it showed briefly in his face. Whoever it was really looked like they were trying to cosplay something that Seth was very much unfamiliar with. She looked very odd for sure. Face flickering from shocked to slight annoyance at seeing the person, Seth instinctively had his brain going at hyper mode trying to think of what to do. Didn't seem like anything he couldn't handle himself. The person certainly didn't look threatening so much as weird. Seth's immediate realization in the couple seconds it took him to assess the situation told him to play it calm now and see what was going on here and play it by ear. Seth had not noticed a breaking in anywhere, and his window seemed to be as he left it. So clearly someone did a decent job getting in. May have to change the locks or something.
Seth showed no reaction to her words. The Kunzite part of him hadn't been awakened and quite frankly he was thinking this person was a raving loony. However, she certainly didn't seem harmful. The smile was less than convincing of good intent, as did the name "Dark Kingdom." Really this sounded like he was trying to be recruited into a LARP group or something like this. If that was the case then he knew how to handle this. Crossing his arms and giving her a stern look as he was less than pleased about what should be his relaxing time being interrupted by a raving loony, he spoke. "Well it seems as though I have no choice in the matter but to hear what you have to say given you took the liberty to break into my residence and invite yourself into my bedroom now do I?" He stated, not even really asking a question as he leaned against the wall. Truthfully he was hoping this would be quick. Then he could get her the hell out of his room. Or that someone would come by so he could have this person properly handed to the authorities and properly charged with breaking and entering.
"I will stick to standing though." He told her. If she was mentally unstable, as he was thinking this person was, he would rather be able to stand and fight her. He knew some Tae Kwon Do so if she suddenly came at him with a knife or something crazy he could deal with her.

[STYLE=font-family: georgia; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; padding: 5px; width: 400px; margin-top: -30px;]She'd surprised him. Her delight showed in the brief glimpse of teeth that were just a little bit too sharp for comfort; Carson always had a small fondness for tricks, and Beryl shared it. "Break into," she crooned, letting go of the staff. It vanished from her hand, and in fact entirely from sight. "I didn't do any such thing."
It was true; she hadn't. She had certainly invaded his home; breaking in implied violence. It implied that, once she was gone, she would be trackable. But she'd checked, and her fingerprints had been wiped away as if they had never existed. She didn't even leave little ellipses of skin oils.
The truth was simple: She'd wanted to be in his bedroom and then she was. That was how it worked. Beryl wanted things and then she worked hard enough to get them and in the end, she always won. She got what she wanted even if she had to twist the fabric of reality her way--after all, teleportation was completely impossible by the law of physics. Summoning lightning to the air with nothing more than a thought was impossible too. But she did it--she didn't even have to think about it, and she did it.
"That's fine," she said, displeased at the shift in his expression. Lightning arced between her fingers as she spread them wide before her, shedding azure light on her face. "You don't believe me; nor did Jadeite. But you'll come around." Beryl took a few steps forward, pressed a hand to Seth's chest and smiled at him. "I'll make you."
In another situation she would have considered it a threat, and so wouldn't have said it. Threatening wasn't her way, wasn't Beryl's way. She smiled at him and pressed her hand into his chest, curled her fingers tight around the soul inside his chest, and let the Chaos flow.
Jadeite had screamed. The monsters she had experimented on had screamed. Some of them had vomited and others had fainted, some had stayed lucid enough to scream words rather than just the endless noise ripped out of twisting voice boxes. Morbid curiosity asked her only one question:
Would Kunzite?[/style]

Seth eyed her oddly when she said she hadn't broken into his home. Ya, she had to have entered to be here and somehow he doubted very much that her way was exactly on the up and up. If he called a cop, it would be breaking and entering, no question. Clearly this person was not just delusional, but also seemed to be unable to comprehend the law. Which of course explained the entering without anyone letting her in. Whatever the case, he did not much care for her aesthetics, that much he was already sure of.
The staff trick was something he hadn't expected. Nor was the azure light thing, and it showed on Seth's face. However, Seth quickly rationalized it away. After all, she had been here for an unspecified time before he got there. She could have set up any number of tricks to try to get him to play her creepy little game. He had to admit, he had to give credit for the effort, but overall he was largely unimpressed. Again, it was a simple trick, nothing more than that. Which meant that this person was going to just play her stupid little games from this point on for her own amusement, as he found them a bit tacky.
Seth was mildly creeped out as she spoke and touched him. Wait. She touched him. She. Touched. HIM. Ok, that did it, she had officially crossed a line and he was about to let rip into her. However, before he could do that, he suddenly felt something happen. Something very strange that felt like lightning was shooting right through him.
And he screamed.
As he fell over, crouching onto the ground in front of her as he screamed in pain, two things happened. One Beryl would see, which was the transformation to Kunzite's physical state and as he did the screaming lessened until it stopped and an energy dome surrounded him, the purple-pink energy forming a barrier, but the other was happening within his mind.
~In Seth's Mind~
Seth was in a pitch-black area, with only the circular platform seeable. It was glowing it seemed, as it seemed to be the only source of light.
"So, it seems as though Beryl has finally found us."
The person spoke, appearing across the platform from him. He had a silverish white hair color. "I'd introduce myself, but I think you know who I am, or should I say we are."
Seth frowned slightly at this situation. He did not like it. First Queen Psycho does whatever she did, now this. "I am aware who you are. Kunzite of the Dark Kingdom. Now, explain how I know who you are exactly."
Kunzite gave a slight smile. "Not who I am, who WE are. We are the same. I am just merely your mind's incarnation of our past life. If I had to fathom a guess, I would say right now we are in a secured part of your mind, sealed when we died last time. I am not sure on the specifics. What I do know is that if Beryl and ourselves are back, you know what we must do."
Seth gave a nod. "We have to execute justice and kill Beryl and Endymion." He said. "We have to wait for Endymion to appear, kill him, then kill Beryl. For the blood on their hands."
"Indeed. For their crimes of the past, justice must be exacted upon them. We are patient. Lets just bide our time and wait. Kunzite said, walking just a couple steps from him. "I suppose we best finish this.I think we can handle those two just fine. I know you Seth because I am you. You make a good alternate life." He said and walked right through Seth, the two becoming once more one and the same.
~Back to what is going on~
Kunzite stood up and brushed himself off. "I see. How interesting." He said, looking at the gloves on his outfit. Now that he had his full memories back, he was amused. "For you to awaken me something must be going on. Tell me Beryl, what is the situation?" He asked her. He would play along for now. And once Endymion revealed himself and was killed? She would be next. Those two would not escape justice if he had his say.

[STYLE=font-family: georgia; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; padding: 5px; width: 400px; margin-top: -30px;]The shield was interesting… and infuriating. It hadn't manifested with Jadeite; but then, Kunzite had always made more of the Generals' native powers, hadn't he? Zoisite, of course, had done the most, and it had been so floral… Beryl poked at the irritatingly pink barrier gently with her staff, and then at its lack of response she made a disgusted face. Trust the stupidly-cautious Kunzite to some up with some sort of rebirth failsafe. Beryl had just generated lightning--the best defense being an unbeatable offense, and all--and it had been the most useful thing her fragile human skin had ever done for her.
The shield faded by inches until her General was rising up before her. For Beryl, who stood on very little ceremony that didn't actually affect her Generals' performance, this was a little irritating but not anything to lecture him for. When he addressed her by her first name, she frowned. "You will address me as 'my lady,' 'Your Majesty,' or 'Queen'," she snapped. "And you will remember that it is because of me that you are once more among the living, Kunzite." This hadn't been necessary with Jadeite; but then, it seemed Jadeite had sense. To think she'd had such high hopes for Kunzite! She would have to keep a closer eye on him than planned--his attitude, from the shield to the lack of respect--didn't speak well for him.
Or her, really.
She'd have to remove this to a place where she held the power, and fast. Luckily, when you were a font of Chaotic power on your own, there were a lot of options for this. She pressed a hand on his shoulder and then with a quiet pop they appeared in the ash-strewn throne hall of the Dark Kingdom.
"I trust I don't need to remind you where you are," she said snidely, vanishing her staff. All she really needed or wanted was the amethyst ball, which came to hand as easily as the staff might have as she seated herself on her tall throne. "Perhaps I awakened you because it pleased me to do so," the dark-haired Queen suggested, laying a hand over the ball and thinking, Jadeite, I require your presence in the throne room. He would arrive soon, or she would speak to him about respecting the font of his powers. Not violently--he could, perhaps, be busy maintaining the facade of humanity, which she could expect--and not publicly. She wouldn't malign him or any of her Generals like that.[/style]

On the outside, he was normal, and easy to pass by, but on the inside he was debating the effects of a public youma attack. He cocked an eyebrow at the sight of a few children, and wondered on the worth of their energy. Before he was able to conjure forth any demons though, he was suddenly interrupted by an all too familiar voice.
Jadeite, I require your presence in the throne room.
A dark scowl appeared on his face, but he gave a small sigh as he stood up straight. Turning on his heel, he walked a few feet down before turning down an empty alleyway. If anyone were unfortunate enough to have looked down, they would have seen him disappear without any warning.
When he appeared in the throne room, Jadeite was in his general attire. He smoothed out his sleeves, walking forward, his gaze still not on the people in front of him. His blond hair was a scruffy mess, and he hadn't exactly readjusted to transporting instantly from place to place, but regardless, he was there.
He looked up, and as soon as he did his eyes widened. Instead of seeing only his queen, he now saw a second person. Nobody normal, as they were calm, collected, and in similar attire as him. "What-" but he didn't finish the question, as it quickly dawned on him. "Kunzite." He eyed the fellow general with an indifferent look, as he walked to stand beside him. He glanced up towards Beryl, before bending to one knee. "My queen," he started, bending his head down as well. "You rang?" He rose his head up, and gave another side glance to Kunzite as he did. 'Interesting,' he thought, not quite sure what to make of the other general's presence yet.[/style] |

Kunzite bit back a derisive reply. Queen? She was still playing that game it would appear. Oh how this was going to be fun. Queen of what exactly? Queen of things given to her by a being who was probably one of most monstrous freaks of them all and probably could take them away on a whim. If it were not to the fact that he was certain Metalia would obliterate him he wouldn't even bother playing that game. But for now he would, if nothing more than to shut her up. "As you wish Queen Beryl, my apologies." He said simply, thinking of how amusing it was. Oh this would be fun.
When they disappeared, Kunzite was not in the least bit unnerved. After all, not like he hadn't been in this place before. "Indeed. D Point unless I am not much mistaken." He said, keeping his composure and staying in his familiar spot. It was a swiftly familiar place. He really did not much care for this place. He was glad though that this could be used to make sure Endymion and Beryl got justice soon enough. He'd just have to be patient.
Her answer as to the particulars was less than amusing, and it showed on his face. Was that her trying to be funny or did she honestly expect him to be stupid enough to believe that. "With all due respect Queen Beryl, there had to be some real reason." He said, wishing she would just cut to the chase. This just annoyed him when people did the kabuki theater rather than just get to the point. As the highest ranked Shitennou, he hated playing the whole dance around when there were other matters to attend to. Granted ones Beryl here had no idea of, but still.
Kunzite was not even that shocked when Jadeite appeared. So he had been awakened too. How interesting. This did not shock him. If he was awakened it was only natural that the others were likely awakened. Looking at Jadeite, he nodded. "Indeed Jadeite." He said quickly, attention back on Beryl. That had been a momentary distraction. He'd have to figure out Jadeite later though. Right now there were other matters that had more value than this little dog and pony show that Beryl seemed keen to put on. Like figuring out what the present situation was and figure out how to work with it from there.

[STYLE=font-family: georgia; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; padding: 5px; width: 400px; margin-top: -30px;]Beryl offered Jadeite a warm smile; she was pleased with his prompt response, and made a note of it for later. "Welcome, Jadeite," she said pleasantly, "I see your memory extends even to drastically changed appearances." He showed her proper respect, at the least; she gestured for him to rise, and said, "I wanted to make you aware of your commander's reawakening," stressing Kunzite's title--one he might not have for very long if her growing suspicions were correct. I don't trust him, she sighed, and at one point it was true she'd trusted none of them. But Jadeite seemed more trustworthy from her limited experiences.
"If you have something to say, Kunzite, do say it. I intend for us to work in a much more cohesive manner than in previous attempts. That will not happen if one among us is keeping secrets for their own amusement, will it?"
She leaned back in her throne, contemplating the matter of Kunzite. He seemed much more balanced than Jadeite. The General among her Generals had often displayed a general sense of inner poise that the others had lacked, and in her last insurrection she had known she could depend on that. The man had been Lawful Good, a pillar upon which her empire could rest, and then once she'd suborned him from the false Prince who had stolen her heart and then crushed it, he had retained that core of honor. Something now had changed…
Did he regret the choice to follow her and reclaim Earth forever ago? Could that be it? Jadeite didn't seem to be dwelling on the loss of all of that; he'd brushed over it when they spoke of it. He wanted power and Beryl had offered, could offer, him all the power that a man could want. As long as that were true, she thought she could depend upon Jadeite. Nephrite and Zoisite were, as yet, complete enigmas. She would awaken them and test their dedication in their own time.
"I don't think I need to remind you why you swore yourself to me," she said thoughtfully. "Endymion's betrayal of Earth, the breaking of the old laws governing Golden Kingdom and Silver Millennium--you do remember this, don't you? How you agreed to follow me to spare the Terran people the dominion of the Moon?" Her voice grew low and deadly: "Do you regret that, Kunzite?"
There was a correct answer. Had it been Jadeite she might have trusted he knew it, but the newborn Kunzite she could not trust yet.[/style]

Kunzite was no longer the older, white haired young man he remembered him to be, and in this life he was even younger than him, but regardless of what he looked like, Jadeite was still able to pick out his fellow generals. They all shared a connection that allowed them to do so, he decided, whether they liked it or not.
He rose, as she directed, and looked at his commander. He could feel a hand ball up into a fist at the very idea of him being ruled over anyone other than Beryl, but he couldn't falter in front of his queen so foolishly. So his hand slacked back to normal, and Jaden simply nodded. "I understand," he got the words out quickly as an attempt not to reveal his annoyance. He rose an eyebrow in curiosity at Beryl's words though. Secrets? Did she actually withhold smaller faith in Kunzite than him, a general who was once her number one?
Beryl was a dangerous woman, even Jaden wasn't stupid enough to miss that, and when her voice fell into a low and threatening growl directed at Kunzite, he had to hide his smirk very carefully. He kept quiet, not daring to interrupt her when she seemed to be in such a mood.'
Women, he thought, amused by the scene.[/style] |

Fortunately for him, the very union between his current self and the recently awakened memories and abilities within him allowed him to keep himself under total control and not betray any such reaction to Beryl's words. He could play it as he knew he would play it otherwise. At least until the time arose. With that in mind, the threat was far from lost on him. However, it was a flawed one at best. He was aware that even with the recent return to his past state, he was still the most powerful of the Shitennou and not only had the ability but the experience as the leader of the Shitennou. For her to do that would be foolish.
Kunzite was also amused, and a slightly amused look appeared on his face when she asked him about secrets. "Merely wondering what the situation is. I assume with Jadeite being here as well that the three of us are not the only ones awakened and am wondering what the present day situation is involving Zoisite and Nephrite as well as anyone else who may well have returned. An explanation of the situation is important if we want to be effective at doing what needs to be done." He said in a quick, cutting to the quick attitude. It was exactly how he would have played it in the past: All business on matters such as these.
Kunzite was partly amused when she explained her reasons. Oh she was so woefully ignorant. He joined her when Endymion's father, the then-king of Earth, had asked him in private to do what needed to be done concerning Endymion, entrusting the Shitennou commander with what was to Kunzite one of the hardest requests for the king to say. He remembered that day clearly. The king hadn't wanted him to, but he was bound by the law to have Endymion killed for breaking the code between the Earth and Moon and Kunzite, by accepting his request, had bound himself in turn to be the executioner. The king had been a great man and a good man, and Kunzite would in the name of the former king and his people see it through. Not that Beryl was wrong as that too was true, but the reason she gave was only partly the story.
"I am aware why I joined up then and am joining now too. I do not regret my choice then as I do not regret it now." He told Beryl and Jadeite. No, he did not regret it as it needed to be done. Beryl was something that needed to be dealt with, but she had just renewed the urge to kill Endymion. Silently to himself, one thing ran through his mind. Alright fine Beryl, you want to play that way? I'll play your game. I'll play the loyal Shitennou for now, until Endymion is found and executed. Then it will be your turn to pay for your crimes.

[STYLE=font-family: georgia; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; padding: 5px; width: 400px; margin-top: -30px;]Leaning back in her chair, she folded her hands before her. "You assume incorrectly," she said, "You and Jadeite are all I have awakened so far. I have not needed anyone other than myself for two years." She'd explained that to Jadeite, but of course Kunzite wouldn't have known that yet. Beryl was much more experienced in this life, comparatively. Two years was not a gap of power that could be made up in a day, or even a year itself.
This Beryl would not rest on her laurels, she vowed to herself. She would keep learning, until she could accomplish every goal she laid out for her Kingdom and for herself. "I'm glad." That at least would be a good leash to hold on this possible maverick's neck; that, and the powers that Beryl claimed that he did not. The powers that she could take away if she chose, as she trusted he knew. A purified General had no recourse to the teleportation, to the creation of youma, to none of the higher skills until he bonded to a senshi.
She felt confident that Kunzite would never condescend to hand over his life to Sailor Venus, should the bitch return.
"Then your assignment, Kunzite, is to collect energy so we may awaken our Queen. You should work with Jadeite, at least initially; he understands more about these powers that you have been newly granted than you do." She looked to Jadeite, a softer look around her brilliant emerald eyes. "And old friends might want to catch up." She could trust Jadeite to report any insurrection to her, she hoped. Kunzite couldn't offer what she could--Metalia had chosen her to be the Chaos Queen's chosen representative, not the General. And Kunzite would never be able to replace her.[/style]
